eCovery - Therapie bei Schmerzen im unteren Rücken App at a Glance
The eCovery therapy for lower back pain is a digital health application for patients aged 18 and older with lower back pain. It comprises a guideline-compliant training plan consisting of muscle, mobility, and relaxation exercises as well as educational content. Based on an initial medical history assessment (taking into account the individual pain findings, any existing physical limitations, personalized communication, and motivation) as well as continuous consideration of feedback on pain scores and difficulty levels of exercises, the training plan is individually and automatically adapted to the needs of the patients. The underlying treatment algorithm was designed by physicians and physiotherapists using a so-called expert system based on established specialist knowledge regarding the appropriate sequence of an exercise and effective training sets, training frequencies, and training intensities. The algorithms described above are only used in the DiGA in the so-called fully trained state. With regard to goals defined by healthcare providers and users, they enable personalized recommendations that influence the environment with which the DiGA interacts. The personalized guidance of users toward active therapy selection, implementation, and adjustment is one of the main functions of the DiGA and enables, in addition to a medical history assessment, supplementary exercises, educational units, and a clear summary, the sustainable achievement of therapy goals. The duration of use is 84 days. The app can be used independently or as a complement to an on-site therapy.
